PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolver rotational position detecting device which can accurately detect the rotational position of a revolver with simple structure and can be made small in size and low in cost and to provide a microscope provided with the device. SOLUTION: This revolver 53 is mounted rotatably on a fitting member 56. Objectives are fitted in dour objective fitting holes 7a, 7b, 7c, and 7d of the revolver 53 and an objective postitioned at the cylinder part 56a of the fitting part 56 is used for observation. Magnets N1, N2, S1, and S2 are fitted at positions among the objective fitting holes 7a, 7b, 7c and 7d in the revolver 53 and the fitting member 56 is fitted with two Hall elements 58a and 58b. An objective used for observation is decided by a combination of the states of the output voltages of the Hall elements 58a and 58b.
