<p>The device according to this invention is fitted in the measurement area of a known optical gauge; it may be used together with a commercially available cleaning apparatus (13) to be located upstream the device according to this invention; said device comprises a body (2) and a compressed air dispenser (3); the body (2) has slots (5) which let the light beam pass through and a cavity (6); the compressed air dispenser (3) comprises a ring (8) which protects the optical portion against the impacts of the item to be measured, one or more hubs (9) connected to a compressed air generator, and at least one air outflow chamber (10); thanks to the layout of the chambers (10), the airflow coming from the compressor turns into a laminar flow, parallel to the product feed direction, which blows upon the exposed optical surfaces of the gauge tangentially.</p> |
