The invention relates to a device and method for photolithographically irradiating biological substances. Said device comprises at least one light source (A), a bundle of optical waveguides (F) and a control unit (B), whereby each optical waveguide can be independently controlled using light and/or light can be injected into each optical waveguide. The device is suited, in particular, for exposing DNA chips, PNA chips or peptide chips to light.
