PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the movement of an instrument as well as the extension and the change of exhausting direction after installation and maintain excellent combustion condition at all times by a method wherein a means for controlling the air volume of a fan without changing the number of rotation of the fan is provided on the air supplying and discharging route of a hot-water supplier. SOLUTION: Feed water flows from a feed water circuit 1 through a water amount sensor 2 and absorbs heat in a heat exchanger 3, then, is discharged out of a hot-water discharging passage 4 through a hot-water discharge sensor 5 and a water amount control valve 6. When a signal is inputted into the water amount sensor 2, fuel is supplied by a gas proportional valve 18 to start the combustion in a burner 7 and the gas proportional valve 18 controls the amount of gas supplied into the burner 7 so as to achieve a temperature set in a discharged hot-water temperature setting means 20, At the same time, a fan 8 supplies air for combustion and is turned at a preset number of rotation to retain the optimum combustion condition. In this case, the degree of opening of a variable air suction damper 9, capable of adjusting the air volume of suction unit of the fan 8, is specified at a value preset in accordance with the volume of exhaust gas whereby the air volume of the fan 8 can be set so as to obtain the optimum combustion condition.
