PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable photosensitive material sufficiently suitable for a medical diagnosis, in particular the diagnosis of the lungs. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material contains photosensitive silver halide, a nonphotosensitive organic silver salt, a silver ion reducing agent and a binder on one face of the substrate. An image formed by exposing and developing the heat developable photosensitive material satisfies the expression 0<=ΔBG0.5-ΔBG2.5<0.15, whereinΔBG0.5 is (optical density with a B filter -0.5 in an image part whose optical density is 0.5 with a G filter andΔBG2.5 is (optical density with a B filter -2.5 in an image part whose optical density is 2.5 with a G filter.
