摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal driving circuit performing residual image reducing correction with no picture quality deterioration by detecting movement speed of a picture from the output of plural edge detecting means and varying multiplication constant in accordance with this output. SOLUTION: A picture signal is inputted to a frame memory 1, a subtracter 2, an adder 4, a first edge detecting circuit 7. A picture signal of one frame is taken in the frame memory 1 and outputted after one frame. A second edge detecting circuit 8 detects a picture edge before one frame for an output of the frame memory 1. A speed detecting circuit 9 calculates movement speed of a picture from an output of the first edge detecting circuit 7 and the second edge detecting circuit 8. That is, the speed detecting circuit 9 detects movement speed of a picture from the first and second edge detecting circuits 7, 8. And a control circuit 10 controls a multiplier 3 with a constant in accordance with its speed. Therefore, residual image reducing correction is performed without causing picture quality deterioration for a still picture and a slow motion picture.
