PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support mechanism for a connector capable of reducing the number of components and easily and surely performing assembling work. SOLUTION: A first connector 30 comprises a connector main body 31 and an engaging lever 32 pivotally supported by a pivot shaft 33, so that one end side is projected from one end face of the connector main body 31, an engaging protrusion 43 is protrusively formed at one end part of the engaging lever 32, a connecting protrusion 40D is formed at the other end part, and a guide groove 54 is formed in the inner wall of a second connector 50 for guiding the connection protrusion 40D. When the first connector 30 is fitted to the second connector 50, in such a condition that the engaging protrusion 43 temporarily engages with a part to be mounted 20, the connecting protrusion 40D is guided in the guiding groove 54 for rotating the engaging lever 32 and the engaging protrusion 43 is supported by the part to be mounted 20. Thereby, the number of the part items can be reduced, and a support mechanism for a connector which is easily and surely assembled can be realized.
