<p>A method of data processing, comprising: providing a data set to be processed by applying a transform thereto; decomposing said data set into a plurality of data sets, wherein at least one data element of said data set is represented by a linear combination of respective elements of at least two of said plurality of data sets; applying at least one secondary optical transform to said plurality of data sets using one or more optical components to manipulate light encoding said data sets; reconstructing the transform of said data set by combining said transformed light from a plurality of data sets. In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, the decomposition is into bit-planes.</p> |
