MANIFOLD AND REGULATOR APPARATUS

A manifold assembly (140) is provided which includes a manifold block (142) having a gas inlet (148) and a gas outlet (150). The block (142) also includ es a regulator inlet in a planar surface (166) of the manifold block (142) whic h is connected to the gas inlet (148). The regulator outlet is also provided i n the planar surface (166) spaced from the regulator inlet and connected to th e gas outlet (150). A regulator (162) is mounted to the manifold block (142) a t the planar surface (166) and includes an inlet (164) and outlet (178) on a common wall of the regulator (162). The inlet (164) and outlet (178) of the regulator (162) have the same spacing as and communicate with the regulator (162) inlet and outlet of the manifold block (142). In the preferred embodiment, one of the inlet (164) and outlet (178) of the regulator (162) i s annular and encompasses the other.
