PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal decomposition melting processing method in which it has excellent heat efficiency and keeps ventilating performance, permeability for stable operation by properly mixing general waste, waste buried in final disposal place, and again dug out, and other various wastes. SOLUTION: In a thermal decomposition melting processing method for waste by making use of a shaft furnace thermal decomposition melting furnace, fine particles are removed from waste buried in a final disposal place and again dug out, and are then mixed with general waste for thermal decomposition melting processing. For the fine particles it is desirable to remove fine particles of 10 mm or less using a vibratory screen 13. The removed fine particles are mixed with general waste as lumps of 10 mm or larger with a granulator 15 for thermal decomposition melting processing. Further, a metal fraction may be previously recovered from the waste again dug out with a magnetic separator, and large stoners and tiles and pebbles, etc., of 200 mm or larger may be previously separated from the waste again dug, which do not previously require a thermal decomposition melting processing.
