PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To afford a long life to an image carrier while effectively reducing the image blur caused by the excessive supply of lubricant for the image carrier. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, an electrostatic latent image is formed on the image carrier 11, a toner image is obtained by developing the electrostatic latent image and a picture is obtained by transferring and fixing the toner image on a recording medium P. The image forming device 10 is provided with the lubricant 160 for making the surface of the image carrier low-frictional, lubricant supplying means 163, 165 and 167 for supplying the lubricant to the surface of the image carrier and a control means 169 for controlling the supply of the lubricant by the lubricant supplying means, where the step for reducing the coefficient of friction of the surface of the image carrier and the step for increasing the same are alternately repeated in a predetermined time interval. |
