The thermostat head has a lower part (1) fitted to the heating valve and enclosing the working element (2) of the temperature source (20) and a relatively rotatable handwheel cap (3), for selecting the temperature, provided with an indicator ring (4) which is axially fixed relative to the lower part of the thermostat head. The handwheel cap (3) has an inner screw thread (5) engaging an outer screw thread (6) of the lower part (1), the indicator ring (4) secured to the handwheel cap via interlocking teeth (7), allowing it to move axially relative to the handwheel cap during its rotation by the latter.
