The piston engine includes a rotating cylinder body (1) with spherically concave control face (2) with a thin fixed anti-friction coating layer of bearing material such as tin. The anti-friction coating runs against a wear-resistant spherical convex control face of the fixed control mirror which is made from a surface-or heat treated steel. The control face of the cylinder body has for bonding onto the axially parallel piston bores control openings (11) of smaller cross-section whose centre axis (17) runs at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis (18) of the piston bores.
