A muffle furnace has cooling tubes (3) with complementary muffle contact faces and cross-sections which focus heat flux density at their bores. A muffle furnace has cooling elements (3) in the form of profiled tubes which have contact faces complementary to the external muffle surface and which have a cross-section designed to focus the heat flux density at their bores. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a cooling element for the above furnace; and (ii) a process for producing several one-piece cooling elements with contact faces as described above.
