Protective element in the form of a plate or cover to shield against electrical effects

The protective element has several layers connected together by laminates. The element shields an inner side to be protected from an outer side such that physical penetration of the element body (3) can be electrically detected. The body (3) cannot be penetrated by external magnetic fields, so as to enable a qualifiable identification of shielded electromagnetic fields or an effect from electronic devices protected. At least an outer conductive layer is made of metal which is earthed and which is connected via an insulating layer (7) with an inner electrically conducting layer which is connected to a constant voltage source. If the insulated layer is broken a detectable electric charge flows between the two conductive layers. Independent claims also cover the use of such an element and also an electric connector.
