HAIR-TREATMENT COMPOSITION

A hair-treatment composition which contains a fermented rice bran/soybean extract, has excellent effects of protecting the hair, waving the hair and retaining the waved hair style, and relieves an offensive smell originating in perming agents. The composition is applied to sample hair which has been treated with commercially available perming agents. After allowing to stand for a while, the moisture content and the cysteic acid content of the sample hair are measured. As a result, the sample hair shows little change in the moisture content due to the change in the environmental humidity, compared with a control group. Also, it is found out that the composition shows an enhanced effect of inhibiting the formation of cysteic acid by hydrolyzed keratin. When the above composition is used in perming, the hair is effectively waved and the waved hair style can be sustained. Moreover, the composition relieves the cold smell originating mainly in sulfur components in perming agents.
