<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to identify any partial discharge occurring in silicone oil and locate the area of occurrence by sampling the silicone oil filled in a prefabricated junction or the like and chemically analyzing octamethyltetracyclosiloxane. SOLUTION: A prefabricated junction is dismantled, and silicone oil present in the boundaries between the members is sampled on an area-by-area basis. The samples are analyzed on an analyzer, such as a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer and an infrared spectrometer to detect octamethyltetracyclosiloxane in the samples. If octamethyltetracyclosiloxane is detected, it is judged that partial discharge has occurred in the area where the sample was taken, Thus, it is possible to identify any partial discharge occurring in silicone oil in a joint, such as a prefabricated joint, and locate the area of occurrence with reliability.</p> |
