摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the detecting accuracy of a focus detecting action using auxiliary light by correcting the electric charge accumulating time of the photoelectric conversion means of every focus detection area according to the illuminance distribution of the auxiliary light at a field. SOLUTION: By illuminating the plural focus detection area with the auxiliary light, electric charge corresponding to the light intensity distribution of an object image is accumulated in prescribed time by respective line sensors 18a-18e. Next, when the focusing state of the photographing lens 3 of every focus detection area is detected based on the accumulated electric charge amount, the electric charge accumulating time is set based on the object luminance data of a central area in the case that the central area is selected based on the previously measured and stored illuminance distribution of the auxiliary light of an auxiliary light projection part 25 and the fixed data of the object illuminance of the central area. In the case that the other area is selected, illuminance difference between the central area is obtained based on illuminance distribution data. Then, the electric charge correction time of the central area is corrected and the electric charge accumulating time of the selected area is calculated.
