PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device having structure of microlenses which can increase density of pixels or light condensing efficiency, and a manufacturing method of the device. SOLUTION: This solid-state image pickup device is provided with a substrate 1, in which a plurality of light receiving elements 2 are formed two- dimensionally, in the row direction and the columnar direction which intersect perpendicularly with each other, first barrel type mirolenses 3 of a plurality of rows which are formed on the substrate 1 and stretched in the row direction and constitute convex lens forming sections in the columnar direction, and second barrel type microlenses 4 of a plurality of columns which are formed on the first barrel type microlenses 3 and stretched in the columnar direction, and constitute convex lens form sections in the row direction. Light receiving elements are formed under a region where the first and second barrel type microlenses intersect with each other. A light which passed the first and second barrel type microlenses is condensed in the light receiving elements.
