The wormwheel(3) has a smooth running track(7,8) on its wheel flange and upon it runs a spring-loaded tensioning roller(9,10) which presses the worm(2) radially against the wormwheel. The wheel flange protrudes on both sides of a wheel disc(25), and a running track is provided on both sides on the inner circumference of the wheel flange. The tensioning roller is formed as a ball bearing spring-loaded against the running track. The spring element(15) is a stamped metal part reaching radially in its centre section over the wheel flange and carrying the pivots(16,17) for the rollers.
