PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining cholesterol in a sample. SOLUTION: In the method for determining cholesterol in a sample solution, the sample solution containing cholesterol is brought into contact with the surface of a sensitization-type current-measuring tool consisting of a DNA modification electrode where DNA fragments that are composed of two chains are fixed to an electrode surface at one end and an electrochemical active sewing type intercalator being sewn to the DNA fragment under the presence of cholesteroloxydaze while giving potential and the amount of current being generated in the measurement tool is measured by the contact, and the amount of current being generated in the measurement tool is measured by the contact.
