The invention relates to a laryngoscope (10) comprising a handle (12) and a spatula (14) arranged substantially crosswise relative to the handle, said spatula being releasably fixed to the handle (12) by means of a coupling. The inventive laryngoscope (10) also includes a light guide (32a, 32b) and an image guide (34) which is rigidly mounted on the spatula (14). A proximal end of the light guide (32a, 32b) has a light inlet and a proximal end of the image guide (34) has an image outlet. The light inlet and the image outlet are disposed in the area of the coupling (16) and the handle (12) has a light outlet and an image inlet in the area of the coupling that make it possible to couple the light signal from the handle (12) into the light guide (32a, 32b) and to couple the image signal out of the image guide (34). The invention is characterized in that the laryngoscope (10) has a centering element (90) that centers automatically the image inlet and the image outlet relative to one another.
