PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling method and device for an image forming device which manage print data in a job unit and also can eliminate an unneeded initialization operation. SOLUTION: A job managing part 105 and a print data managing part 104 manage a job and print data, when a job and print data to be printed exist while an image recorder controlling part 106 performs a printing operation, the printing operation is made to continue, and only when an initialization operation involved in a stop request and the change of printing parameters is needed, a stop instruction is issued.
