PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily analyze the structure of an unknown compound and to improve analysis accuracy by performing the derivation of an organic matter with a functional group contained in a sample using a reaction reagent and performing the mass spectrometry of the obtained derivative by the precursor ion scanning method. SOLUTION: First, an organic matter with a functional group contained in a sample is changed into a derivative by a reaction reagent. The functional group that the organic matter has is not limited. Its examples include carbonyl group, amino group, carboxyl group, hydroxyl group, and thiol group. Among these, the carbonyl group, primary amino group, and secondary amino group are preferably in terms of ease of changing into derivative. The organic matter with the functional group includes formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone, and propionic aldehyde. The reaction reagent preferably generates a fragment ion in the case of mass spectrometry by the precursor ion scanning method (parent ion scanning method) and is a compound with strong polarity.
