The invention relates to a self-cooled direct current motor applicable to machine-tools, equipments and machines for chemical industry, transportation and different automation applications. According to the invention, the motor comprises the components used for producing normal asynchronous motors, namely a casing (1) wherein the packet of lamination (2) is pressed, said packet having slots provided with excitation, commutating and possibly, compensating winding. Inside the casing (1), a rotor subassembly is introduced, said rotor consisting of a shaft (4) on which some rotor sheets (5) are fixed between two clamping bushes (6), hot-pressed on the shaft (4), the rotor slots hosting a rotor winding (7) connected to the commutator segments (8) and being supplied with voltage through the brushes (9) mounted in brush-holders (10) secured to a cylinder (11), located between the casing (1) and a traction shield (12). The adjustment of the brushes (9) in the neutral area of the electric machines is achieved by loosening the screws (13) and by rotation on the chamfering of the cylinder (11). The cooling air is entrained by a fan (14) and directed by the hood (15) towards the face of the casing. The brushes and the brush-holders can be checked by loosening the hoods (16).
