USE OF 1,4-BENZOTHIAZEPINE DERIVATIVES AS DRUGS FOR OVERCOMING RESISTANCE TO ANTICANCER DRUGS

Use of compounds represented by general formula [I] or salts thereof or prodrugs of the same as drugs overcoming carcinostatic tolerance or drugs enhancing carcinostatics, wherein R1 represents hydrogen or lower alkoxy; R2 represents hydrogen, lower alkoxy, optionally substituted phenyl, (1) or (2) (wherein R3 represents acyl); X represents -CO- or -CH2-; and n is 1 or 2. T he compounds of the general formula [I] have not only an effect of overcoming t he tolerance to various carcinostatics but also an effect of enhancing the effects of various carcinostatics on carcinostatic-sensitive cells. Therefor e, these compounds exert excellent effects on both of tolerant cells and sensitive cells and are extremely efficacious particularly in treating cance r which has become tolerant to carcinostatics.
