A door controlling device (16) for opening and closing a door (10) in a wall (14) has a linkage connecting between the door (10) and the wall and an arm (30) pivotable about a pin (35). A drive member (48) on the pin (35) has a stand-by position which does not engage the arm (30) during manual operation of the door (10). Rotation of the drive member (48) in one direction rotates the arm (30) about the pin (35) to open the door (10) and rotation of the drive member (48) in the opposite direction rotates the arm (30) about the pin (35) to close the door (10). |
