PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute sufficient density correction by converting a measurement value into actual printing density, calculating to which density level in a density characteristic the converted density value corresponds and correcting the printing density through the use of a density correction table generated by using an interpolation method with the calculated density level. SOLUTION: A measurement value is converted into actual printing density and it is calculated to which density level in a density characteristic the converted density value corresponds. The printing density is corrected by using a density correction table generated by using an interpolation method with the calculated density level. In a device, a density measuring part 215 measures a density value of the density level. A measurement value processing part 210 removes a sensor error of the measurement value obtained by the density measuring part 215. A density correction table generation part 209 converts the measurement value into the density value and generates the density correction table. A density correction processing part 208 corrects the density level by using the generated density correction table when printing information is gray level setting and color level setting or the like. |
