The method involves sanding the work pieces in a number of stages from a coarse to a fine finish before lacquering the work pieces. The fineness of the last sanding stage is selected according to the type of work, so that practically no free fibres remain on the work piece surface during the lacquering. The whole lacquer is applied in one step, without intermediate lacquering. An Independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
