PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less expensive video intercom whose slave set normally operates even at a low temperature and which does not need heating exclusive components such as a heater. SOLUTION: The video intercom has an operating mode where at least parts of circuit components of an outdoor set 26 are driven and a standby mode where no current is supplied to the circuit components of the outdoor unit 26 and can select either the standby mode or the operating mode. Thus, in the case of the operating mode, the circuit components of the outdoor set are driven so as to increase a temperature in the outdoor unit and the circuit components thereby to normally operate the outdoor set even at a low temperature and in the case that the standby mode is selected, the current supply to the slave set is stopped to save power.
