PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the transmission and reception branching filter which effectively use the function of a BPF, improves return loss characteristics, and can be reduced in manufacture cost. SOLUTION: This transmission and reception branching filter is characterized by that a waveguide 1A which extends toward an antenna while including an opening end part 2 as part of its internal wall is arranged and then branches off into two at the opening end part 2 as an origin so that one waveguide 1T extends to a transmitter and the other waveguide 1R extends to a receiver. An opening end part 3 is formed at a position of connection with the transmitter and an opening end part 4 is formed at a position of connection with the receiver. At the respective opening end parts, H plane T branches are provided. At the H plane T branches, a rod type matching element 10 is provided which are positioned on planes Ca, Ct, and Cr, which are perpendicular to the branch directions of the waveguides 1A, 1T, and 1R and include branch axes, and connects the internal walls of both the H planes of the waveguides 1A, 1T, and 1R.
