PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for displaying landmarks and a navigation apparatus whereby vehicle position (guide), the intersect state of roads, the state of curves and the like can be made easy to see when guided. SOLUTION: When a vehicle 72 approaches a guide point (intersection) B of a guide road 71, if any of landmarks 75-1, 75-2 and 75-3 displayed in the vicinity of the B projects to the guide road 71, the landmarks 75-1 and 75-2 projecting to the guide road 71 are moved and displayed as shown in (b) and (c). In other words, a driver requires only to detect a rough positional relationship of the guide road 71 and landmarks in the vicinity of the guide point B, not requiring the landmarks to be at a correct position. Therefore, the landmarks 75-i and 75-2 superposed on the guide road 71 are detected and moved to a position where the positional relationship to the guide road 71 is not changed when, the distance between a position of the vehicle 72 and the guide point B becomes not larger than a predetermined value. |
