PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by substituting information received from the slave machine requesting registration for registered information of a slave machine when there is information on the registered slave machine. SOLUTION: In exchanging a slave machine (PS), a registration request containing a slave machine number (PSN) and a slave machine call code (PS-ID#b) is transmitted to a PBX-side through a connection device (BS). The common controller(CC) of the PBX side checks the match/mismatch of PSN and PS-ID of the two new/old slave machines by examining whether the PSN of a registration request received from PS already exists in the extension data table of a main storage device (MM). When the check results in mismatch, a temporary extension data table is provided in the MM as shown in the drawing and temporary extension data are generated in the table. Then, the CC informs the PS during the registration request of the data setting about the PSN and a temporary authentication key (KEY#b). The PS is caused to se data in a way similar to that when a registration sequence is normally terminated.
