PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the animation editing jobs for an editor by selecting the moving image parts which form an animation, setting the connection of the selected moving image parts on a display screen, editing a scenario of moving images and assigning the speech information to the moving image parts to edit an animation. SOLUTION: A user designates one of parts of an animation and issues a reading request for the definition information. Then the user selects an animation part (ST2). The animation parts are laid out to set the connection of these parts on an animation editing screen (ST3). When the assignment of voice data to the speech area of the animation parts which is laid out by the user (ST4) is requested, an input screen is opened for the voice data and the voice data on the speech area of the animation parts are assigned (ST5). When an end request is issued (ST6), this request is stored in an animation data file and this processing is ended (ST7).
