A bar (6) is attached to a coupling at the front or rear of the vehicle for receiving tensile or compressive forces. The bar is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A further bar (7) is arranged along the bar, and is aligned at right angles to it. The other ends of both bars are held stationary. The first bar may be coupled to the towing bracket of the vehicle.
