PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image filing system which automatically demands the user to update image data. SOLUTION: The image filing system is provided with an image reading device 3 which optically reads an original, converts the original into electronic picture data 5, and prepares a time limit management program 6 for managing the time limit of the data 5, an image storing device 2 which receives the image data 5 and time limit management program 6 and manages the time limit of the data 5 based on the program 6, and an operation controller 4 which displays the time limit information on the image data 5 managed by means of the image storing device 2 to the user.
