An airbag apparatus for a passenger seated in a seat of a vehicle has an inflator generating gas and a folded-up airbag body. Gas from the inflator causes to the airbag body to inflate. The airbag body has a first outer base cloth 21 opposing a passenger, a second outer base cloth 22 opposing an inner side wall of the vehicle, an inner base cloth 23 or 24 on an inside surface of at least one of the first and second outer base cloths, and at least one communicating hole 25 or 26 formed in the inner base cloth. The first outer base cloth and the second outer base cloth are formed as a bag. A bulkhead 33 is provided between the head protecting part and the thorax protecting part. A tether 29 and with a fire protection cloth 30 is provided between the first and second base cloths. |
