The outer stator (1) is a sphere of perforated metal sheet or metalized gauze. Concentric with the stator is an electrostatically charged membrane (3). Between the stator electrode and the membrane electrode is a matrix (4) of insulated material, e.g. a thin perforated plastic foil. The electrodes are fed with the audio frequency signals by a transformer (2).
