The invention consists in producing mixed CO 2 gas, used in the carbonatation-precipitation step in the process of preparing anhydrous sodium carbonate, by mixing the gas produced in the step of preheating the filtering lye solution comprising 80 % CO 2, 15 % NH 4 and 5 % water vapour with the gas resulting from the thermal decomposition of the sodium bicarbonate with a concentration of 90 % CO 2. Finally, CO 2 resulting from the lime kilns with a concentration of minimum 37 % is added. The installation comprises means for trapping and transpoprting gases, and consists of a gas trapping device and droplet separator (1) provided with a cylindrical-conical funnel (2) having a gas trapping pipe (3) inside. The device (1) is mounted at the upper side of a tubular device (4) for preheating the lye solution.
