PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation device which can perform separation operation normally without lowering the capacity and efficiency of separation even when a thermoplastic material is applied to a composite material. SOLUTION: A cooler 10 and a water sprayer 11 are fitted to a carrier pipe 4 for supplying a composite material to a separation part 5, the temperature and humidity of carrier air in a discharge pipe 7 are detected, and the detected values are input into a controller 14 to control the cooler 10 and the sprayer 11. The carrier air for supplying the composite material to the separation part 5 is cooled, and water is sprayed into the air to control its temperature elevation by heat generated in the separation part 5 so that the softening of a thermoplastic material is prevented.
