PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polybutadiene comprising a specific high mol.wt. polybutadiene and a specific low mol.wt. polybutadiene, and to provide a method for producing the polybutadiene in which polymerization activity. SOLUTION: This polybutadiene comprises the following components (A) and (B): (A) the polybutadiene which is produced in the presence of the compound of a rate earth metal having the atomic number of 57 to 71 as a catalyst and has a weight-average mol.wt. (Mw) of 700,000 to 3,000,000 measured by gel permeation chromatograph(GPC); and (B) the polybutadiene which is produced in the presence of the compound of a rare earth metal having the atomic number of 57 to 71 as a catalyst and has a weight-average mol.wt. (Mw) of 5,000 to 70,000 measured by gel permeation chromatograph(GPC).
