PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the cost by constituting a cushioning material of corrugated fiberboard in such a manner that a pair of external contact surface sections which come into contact with the opposing internal surfaces of an external box are provided, and a pair of internal contact surface sections which continue from the external contact surface sections and come into contact with the confronted external surfaces of an article to be packed are provided, and a connecting section which connects the internal contact surface sections is provided. SOLUTION: A cushioning material 7 is formed in such a manner that a corrugated fiberboard material is cut into a rectangular shape, cuts and folding lines or the like are provided at right and left symmetrical locations, and the corrugated fiberboard material is bent along the folding lines at the time of a packing work. The cushioning material has a shape constituted of a pair of external contact surface sections 8 which come into contact with the internal surfaces of an external box, a pair of internal contact surface sections 9 which come into contact with the external surfaces of an article to be packed, and a connecting section 10 which connects respective internal contact surface sections 9. By this constitution, a packing configuration can be formed of the corrugated fiberboard material which is inexpensive, and also, excellent in workability and disposability as well. Also, a process wherein the cushioning material 7 is molded into a tray-shape becomes unnecessary, and the material consumption and the working cost are reduced. Also, the workability at the times of a packing and an unpacking becomes favorable as well.
