PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength and stiffness of mounting bosses and reduce generation of vibration and noises by forming mounting bosses in a manner to contact each other on a thick section around a blow-by gas passage. SOLUTION: The head side blow-by gas passage in a cylinder head 8 comprises a lower head blow-by gas passage 56a with a first axis and an upper head blow-by gas passage 56b having a second axis shifted horizontally by a distance L from the first axis and communicating with a cover side blow-by gas passage. The upper blow-by gas passage 56b is formed by a thick section 58 made through casting and connected to a head side wall. The lower and upper blow-by gas passages 56a, 56b communicate each other through overlapped parts. At the thick section 58 around the upper blow-by gas passage 56b, a delivery pipe mounting boss 60 as a mounting boss of associated members is directly formed. The delivery pipe mounting boss 60 is in parallel with a head cover mounting face 8b, orients approximately to a right angle with respect to a side face of a cylinder head 8, and is provided with a delivery pipe mounting hole 62.
