PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma torch with which a large cooling capacity can be exhibited with small size. SOLUTION: For a conducting tube 15 supplying cooling water to the inside of an electrode 3, its tip side part 15D is made thin. Along the tip side part 15D, a tip side part 3D surrounded by the nozzle 7 of an electrode 3, is made thin to match this. For a cooling water path 43 for sending cooling water to a nozzle 7 and a cooling water path 47 draining the cooling water after cooling the nozzle 7, their sectional shapes are the same, being short in the diametrical direction of a torch 1, long in the peripheral direction and flat. Consequently, while securing necessary cross-sectional area of the cooling water path, the diameter of the torch 1 becomes slender. A cooling water path 45 of the outer periphery of the nozzle comes into contact with a holding cap 13 as well, and the three parts which are the nozzle 7, the holding cap 13 and a nozzle protective cap 11 are cooled simultaneously.
