PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert for cutting a steel containing a cemented carbide body and film. SOLUTION: A cemented carbide body contains WC, 5 to 12 mass % Co, 2 to 11 mass % Ta and Ti, and cubic carbide. 0.1 or less mass % Nb is contained. A Ta to Ti ratio is 1 to 4. Co binding phase has a CW ratio of as high as 0.75 to 0.95 and is alloyed with W. The cemented carbide body is rich in the binding phase of 5 to 50μm in thickness and has a surface area essentially not containing gamma phase. |
