摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material intended for plasma display panels, hardly yellowing due to reaction with an Ag electrode and suitable for highly transparent dielectric layers by including, as a constitutive component, glass powder comprising each specified amount of BaO, CaO, Bi2O3, ZnO, B2O3, SiO2 and PbO, and in addition, a specified amount of P2O5. SOLUTION: This material to be used for forming dielectric layers of plasma display panels comprises 90-100 wt.% of glass powder and 0-10 wt.% of ceramic powder. This material is obtained by incorporating the glass powder with 0.2-20 wt.% of P2O5 to form a glass composition so as to comprise 2-45 (pref. 2-20) wt.% of BaO+CaO+Bi2O3, 5-45 (pref. 5-35) wt.% of ZnO, 10-40 wt.% of B2O3, 1-15 wt.% of SiO2, 0-55 (pref. 25-55) wt.% of PbO and 0.2-20 wt.% of P2O5. Thereby, this glass composition thus obtained is effectively prevented from transmission drop resulting from yellowing due to reaction with the Ag in an electrode for plasma discharge.
