PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience and comfortableness for workers without accumulation of rain water at the side drain side, to improve workability and reduce construction cost and the area of site for sidewalk and improve the appearance and scenery seen from sidewalk side and carriage way side. SOLUTION: A side drain having a lid plate with a cub has the curb portion 16 on the lid plate 1 in the case of a concrete side drain equipped with the lid plate 1 for closing an opening portion of a side drain main body 2 having a rain water drain gutter having an almost U-shaped cross section with the top side opened. On the top surfaces of the curb 16 at the sidewalk side and of the lid plate 1 at carriage way side, drain grooves 11, 12 are provided for draining rain water.
