FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retarded polyester-based resin composition without employing a halogen-containing flame-retardant. SOLUTION: A polyester-based resin (a homopolyester or a copolyester of an alkylene arylate such as PBT or the like) is flame-retarded with a flame- retardant comprising red phosphorus (such as stabilized red phosphorus or the like) incorporated therewith an aromatic ring-containing silicone-based resin. As the aromatic ring-containing silicone resin can be employed an aromatic resin-organosiloxane copolymer, an aromatic ring-containing organosiloxane resin or the like. The flame-retardant resin composition may contain 0.1-100 pts.wt. of a flame-retardant based on 100 pts.wt. of the polyester- based resin. The flame-retardant may contain 1-100 pts.wt. of red phosphorus based on 100 pts.wt. of the aromatic ring-containing silicone resin.
