PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize the device and to ensure highly accurate and stable positioning regardless of size of a cut material, by storing a contact pin in a storing hole in an extended outer cylinder of a dial gauge body, slidably storing a link contact pin connecting to it tip and projecting its tip by a desired length. SOLUTION: A journaling cylinder 15a is placed on the outer peripheral surface of a dial gauge body 15 to project a contact pin 15b, and an extended outer cylinder 16 is engaged with it to be air-tightly connected them via a base end ring 17. The journaling cylinder 15a and the contact pin 15b are stored in a storing hole 16a in the extended outer cylinder 16, a link contact pin 14 connecting to the tip 15b1 of the pin is slidably stored, and a tip 14b is projected by a desired length from the extended outer cylinder 16. A repulsion force is imparted by interposing an adjusting extension spring 18 between a collar portion 14c of the link contact pin 14 and the journaling cylinder 15a. A tip ring 19 makes the storing hole 16a airtight. This dial stopper device 9 is mounted to a vice of a machine tool via a universal support mechanism, and used as a stopper of a cut material.
