PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain deep penetration TIG welding by using austenitic stainless steel for an outer shell, containing one or both of metal titanium and metal zirconium in the outer shell and/or in flux and containing a slag agent of a specified composition/specified condition in the flux and constituting the outer shell and the flux part left with one kind or more of specified elements and inevitable impurities. SOLUTION: One kind or both of metal Ti or metal Zr of 0.1-1.6 wt.% in a wire total weight is contained in an outer shell and/or flux, a slag agent, which essentially contains one or both of 0.2-1.4% Ti oxide and Zr oxide, one or both of 0.3-2.8% Cr oxide and Mo oxide, 0.05-0.3% silicon oxide, 0.1-0.5% iron oxide, 0.1-0.5% metal fluoride, is contained in the flux. Furthermore, the conditions to be satisfied include the ratio of a quantity of (metal Ti + metal Zr)/the quantity of (Ti oxide + Zr oxide + Cr oxide + Mo oxide)=0.1-1.5, and the quantity of (Ti oxide + Zr oxide + Cr oxide + Mo oxide)>a quantity of (silicon oxide + iron oxide + metal fluoride).
